Privacy Policy

The short version

We collect what you choose to send us through the site’s forms, we use it to reply to you and to run the things you asked for, we do not sell it, and we do not run advertising trackers. This policy says exactly what that means. It covers verticalhorizon.ai and is operated by Vertical Horizon AI LLC, Tucson, Arizona (“VerticalHorizon”, “we”).

What we collect, and why

The contact form. Your name, email address, the kind of enquiry you selected and your message. We use it to answer you. It is sent to us by email and is not stored in a database by the site.

Download requests. When you ask for a gated document such as a sample specification, we record your name, email address, company if you give one, and which document you asked for, so that we can approve the request and send it to you. These records are kept in our database.

Newsletter and waitlist sign-ups. If you subscribe to a newsletter such as I-10 Intelligence or join the 100Startups waitlist, we keep your email address to send you what you signed up for. Waitlist sign-ups receive a confirmation email. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying or by emailing us.

Server logs. Like every website, our server records basic technical information about requests — the page requested, the time, the response status and the duration — to keep the site running and to diagnose problems. Our hosting provider may also log the network address a request came from. We do not use this to profile visitors.

We do not collect payment details through the site, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Cookies

The public site does not set cookies and does not use analytics or advertising trackers. One internal tool on the site, used by our own team and protected by a password, sets a single session cookie so that the tool knows the person is signed in. It is not used for anything else and is not set for ordinary visitors.

Who else sees your data

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. A small number of service providers process data on our behalf, under their own terms, to run the site:

• Hosting — Railway, in the United States, runs the site.
• Database — Neon stores the download-request records described above.
• Email delivery — Resend sends the emails the site generates, including form submissions to us and confirmations to you.
• AI processing — documents submitted through our internal, password-protected analysis tool are processed using Anthropic’s API. That tool is used by our team, not by site visitors; if we ever analyse a document you give us, we will have told you so first.
• The Vee demonstration — the conversational character linked from our work pages runs as a separate service at vee.verticalhorizon.ai. If you choose to talk to it, your audio, and any camera frames if you turn the camera on, go to Google’s voice model to produce its replies. We keep no recording or transcript, and the service has no accounts; it shows you this before you start.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

Where data is processed

We are based in the United States and our providers process data there. If you contact us from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and handled in the United States.

How long we keep it

Contact emails stay in our mailbox as part of our correspondence with you. Download-request records are kept so that we know who has received which document. Newsletter and waitlist addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. If you ask us to delete your information, we will, unless we need to keep it to meet a legal obligation or to honour an agreement with you.

Your rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or ask us to stop sending you email. Write to hello@verticalhorizon.ai and we will respond within thirty days. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law, including the right to complain to a supervisory authority; nothing here limits them.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Stored records are held by the providers named above, each of which secures its own infrastructure. Access to internal tools is password-protected. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you send us.

Clients and commissions

This policy covers the website. Information we handle in the course of a commission, including source code, specifications and business information, is governed by the confidentiality terms of the agreement we sign with each client, which take precedence over this policy.

Changes

We will update this policy if what we collect or how we use it changes. The date at the top is the date of the current version.
